Alaska Department of Transportation officials gave the Senate Transportation Committee an update on the 2026 season and beyond on Friday.
DOT Commissioner Ryan Anderson told the Senate committee on Friday that he understood the Alaska Legislature’s message in 2025.
“Get the projects out,” Anderson said. “We took that seriously.”
Deputy Commissioner Katherine Keith added that DOT obligated over $922 million in federal highway funding in 2025, a record for the state.
“This was in part due to a very intense focus on project delivery and innovative ways on how we can work as a team to ensure that delivery,” Keith said.
