Sophie Kinsella, the British author of the bestselling “Shopaholic” novels, has died. She was 55.
The writer, whose real name is Madeleine Sophie Wickham, revealed last year she had been diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer , in 2022.
Her family announced her death on her social media accounts.
“We are heartbroken to announce the passing this morning of our beloved Sophie (aka Maddy, aka Mummy),” the announcement reads. “She died peacefully, with her final days filled with her true loves: family and music and warmth and Christmas and joy.
