A recent survey has revealed that the true heroes of Christmas are NHS staff, grocery workers, police officers, firefighters and carers. A significant 89% of those surveyed agreed that the festive season wouldn't be the same without the relentless efforts of these key workers.

The poll, which questioned 2,000 adults who celebrate Christmas, identified the top 10 individuals who contribute to the festive magic. Supermarket and shop workers (70%), bin collectors (63%), postal workers (60%), and farmers (55%) all featured on the list.

Hospitality staff, foster carers, and street cleaners were also recognised as vital for ensuring a smooth Christmas celebration year after year.
