A popular Christmas drink has been urgently recalled over fears it may be laced with glass.
Bottles of the almond liqueur Disaronno have been pulled from supermarket shelves after a recall notice from the Food Standards Agency (FSA). The alert, issued on Tuesday, applies to 700ml bottles sold in England and Scotland . The FSA said Illva Saronno, the brand's parent company, is recalling the product due to "the possible presence of small pieces of glass within some bottles of product, which could make it unsafe to drink". Seven batches that may include contaminated bottles have been identified, with the potential contamination believed to have occurred due to an "anomaly on the bottle line", per the recall notice.
Shoppers are urged to check the numbers on the back of their bottles. Th
