The Critics’ Choice Association’s 8th Annual Celebration of Black Cinema & Television was a star-driven gala spotlighting Black excellence across film and TV, held at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Jay Pharoah served as the night’s host, while Spike Lee received the marquee Career Achievement Award, framed as recognition for four decades of work that reshaped contemporary cinema and popular culture. Ryan Coogler was honored with a Director Award for his 2025 Warner Bros. feature “Sinners,” and Janelle James was recognized with a Comedy Award for her work on ABC’s “Abbott Elementary.”

Other honorees also included Sterling K. Brown, Jurnee Smollett , Skye P. Marshall, Tessa Thompson, Teyana Taylor and Damson Idris.
