CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. — A Villa Rica Middle School teacher has been charged after a student reported an inappropriate act that allegedly occurred on campus, according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they were notified on Dec. 4 that a juvenile student had accused 54-year-old teacher Rico Thompson of misconduct. The School Resource Officer assigned to the campus was immediately alerted, and investigators opened a case the same day.
