Kent police officers shot at a 48-year-old Kent man suspected of sexual assault and domestic violence who was then bitten by a police dog before his arrest Wednesday morning, according to the city’s Police Department. The man was not hit by any bullets, the department said.
The encounter unfolded in the 11100 block of Southeast 208th Street shortly after 3 a.m., when Kent police officers knocked on the man’s apartment door. The man opened the door, allegedly pointed a handgun at officers, and one officer fired at him, according to police. The man retreated inside and closed the door, police said.
No police officers were hurt, according to a news release.
