The NFL is reducing the length of time between picks in the first round of the draft from 10 to eight minutes beginning next year in Pittsburgh, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Commissioner Roger Goodell floated the possibility of the change on “The Pat McAfee Show” the day after the first round of last year’s draft in Green Bay. The league notified teams of the change Wednesday, per Schefter.

The first round has been ending about 11:45 p.m. from an 8 p.m. start. So those who are planning to attend the festivities on the North Shore, perhaps your night will not be quite as long.
