MADISON (WKOW) -- State Democrats on Wednesday re-introduced legislation that raises the special education reimbursement rate to 90%.
The "Save Our Schools" legislation would provide indexes per pupil funding to inflation and provide grants to students enrolled in teacher prep programs.
"I want to be clear that my bill provides 90% special education reimbursement. This legislature needs to provide some sufficient special education reimbursement. We need to keep our promises," said co-author Rep. Robyn Vining (D-Wauwatosa).
The bill is being reintroduced as districts learn they will be receiving less funding reimbursement than originally promised.
