NEAR SALEM, Mo. (KY3) - The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed a newborn and a driver near Salem.

Troopers responded to the Wednesday crash around 7:15 a.m., near State Highway 72 and Country Road 2300.

Investigators say a driver of a Chevy Spark crossed the centerline, hitting a Dodge Charger head-on. The driver of the Spark and a newborn passenger in the Charger died. The driver and a one-year-old in the Charger suffered serious injuries.

The Missouri Highway Patrol does not release the identities of crash victims.
