BOISE, Idaho — Zoo Idaho in Pocatello is mourning the loss of one of its big cats after nearly 13 years.

The zoo shared with the public on Wednesday the death of Sinbad, a 13-year-old mountain lion who had been at the zoo since he was a 3-month-old kitten in 2012.

On Nov. 21, the animal care team noticed a rapid change in Sinbad's appetite and behavior. Zoo Idaho said the team monitored the situation closely with a veterinarian and provided treatment over the next couple of days, but Sinbad's health continued to decline rapidly.
