ORLANDO, Fla. – A Tony Award-winning Broadway musical based on S.E. Hinton’s 1967 book and the 1983 film adaptation is coming to Orlando.

Set in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1967, “ The Outsiders ” follows 14-year-old Ponyboy Curtis, his best friend, Johnny Cade, and their Greaser family of ‘outsiders.’ They are a working-class gang pitted against their upper-class rivals, the Socs.

The musical has themes of friendship, family, belonging, and the realization that there is still good in the world.

The musical received 12 nominations at the 77th Tony Awar
