BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A man is going to prison for up to 46 years after pleading guilty to a machete and hammer attack in Beaufort County.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office says Ryan Stalls pleaded guilty Tuesday to two counts of first degree attempted murder, first degree kidnapping and attempted first degree forcible sex offense.
The 33-year-old Stalls was arrested in July of 2024 after an extensive manhunt on Horse Pen Swamp Road.
Arrest warrants said Stalls attacked a woman with a machete, while a 12-year-old boy was hit on the top of his head with a hammer.
Deputies say the domestic crimes happened at Cherry Road Estates.
Stalls was sentenced to serve between 33 and 46 years in state prison. When he is released, the man will then have to stay on the sex offender reg
