A judge has imposed a gag order that includes U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace, temporarily barring the South Carolina congresswoman from speaking, posting or texting about ongoing litigation in which she is named or otherwise involved.
Judge Donald Hocker issued the order on his own, without any party requesting it, court records show.
It covers a pair of related lawsuits. One centers on three of the the four men Mace, R-Charleston, accused of abuse earlier this year in a House floor speech . The second was filed against Mace by her former fiancé , who alleges she fabricated the abuse claims as part of a coordinated scheme to obtain two houses.
The order places all parties under the same sweeping speech limits: no public comments about the cases, no remarks about anyone involved, and no post
