FRISCO, Texas — Melissa and Paul Clark don’t hesitate when you ask them about their favorite “child.”

She’s small, covered in fur, and walked on all fours .

“That little dog right there might be covered in fur, but she is my little daughter,” Melissa Clark said.

Luna, their 4-year-old Maltese, was the center of their home. And that’s why what happened on the morning of Nov. 29 is almost unbearable for them to describe.

“She took her last breath… I took that breath in… and she will forever have a piece of my heart,” Melissa said.

The Clarks say around 9 a.m., Luna was attacked by a bobcat in their backyard. Melissa was just feet away.

“The bobcat jumps on the fence, then jumps on a tree, then goes up… with Luna in her mouth,” she said.
