A new security screening tool went live Wednesday at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.
The private company Clear said its new eGate technology is helping modernize and streamline security screening for passengers.
“Security … can be long lines, long waits,” said Sylvia Deshazer, who flew from BWI-Marshall to Los Angeles on Wednesday. “I think having this new eGate from Clear will be advantageous to a lot of people.”
Deshazer signed up for Clear over the summer and was among the first fliers at BWI-Marshall to pass through the company’s new, high-tech eGate at Security Checkpoint B.
“We’ll see what happens when I go through. If it saves me 10 seconds, I’ll be happy,” Deshazer said.
BWI-Marshall is one of the first airports in the U.S. to get Clear’s new tech
