LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - On Wednesday, Jefferson Circuit Judge Mitch Perry declined to recuse himself from a wrongful termination lawsuit involving Louisville Metro Government and a former employee.
Former Assistant Facilities Director Jessica Thornton is suing Metro Government, claiming she was wrongfully terminated by the Greenberg Administration. Thornton claims that during Mayor Greenberg’s campaign, Greenberg cut a deal with the Teamsters Union to get rid of her in exchange for their support.
In a motion filed by attorneys for Jessica Thornton on Oct. 27, they pointed out, Judge Mitch Perry used to work in the Jefferson County Attorney’s office, who regularly defends the Metro in cases like this.
They said Perry disclosed that fact, but would not recuse himself because of it.
