EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The winners of the 2026 Indiana Community Crossing Matching Grants have been announced.
Many Tri-State cities and counties made the cut, but Evansville was left off.

The city engineer says, they got denied because they left one signature off of their application.
For years now, Evansville has applied for the grant, which offers matching funds to make road and bridge improvements.
This year, Evansville applied for the maximum amount of $1 million, expecting to receive it as they have in years past, hoping to fix up roads such as Washington Avenue and Sycamore Street.
