The vaunted Michigan Wolverines football coaching job abruptly opened up on Wednesday, and Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer is among the early favorites to land the gig.
According to multiple reports, Michigan terminated head coach Sherrone Moore with cause.
DeBoer, who was rumored for the Penn State opening heading into the Iron Bowl, is the top name for the job, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
Nakos wrote of the Tide coach, “ DeBoer will surely be a factor in the Michigan search, sources have told On3. He has consistently won as an FBS head coach, bringing Washington to a CFP title game berth and now having Alabama in the playoff in his second season in Tuscaloosa.
