Liverpool took a significant step forward in their hopes of qualification for the Champions League knockout stages with a deserved 1-0 win at last season's beaten finalists Inter in Milan on Tuesday evening. The Reds have now moved on to 12 points from six games and, while almost certain to be in the knockout stages, have given themselves a chance of a top-eight finish and progressing directly to the last 16.

Arne Slot's side will look to build on that victory when they resume Premier League hostilities with a home clash against Brighton on Saturday afternoon.
