Luigi Mangione was arrested Dec. 9, 2024, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, after police responded to reports of a suspicious individual at a McDonald’s. Authorities quickly tied him to the high-profile killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Thompson, 50, was gunned down in Manhattan on Dec. 4, 2024, while heading into a hotel for an investors meeting. Thompson had led the largest private insurer in the United States, since April 2021.

One year later, as legal teams present evidence they hope to use at trial in one of the most closely watched cases in recent memory, new details have emerged about the investigation into Thompson’s killing.

Below are new key evidence pieces of Mangione's arrest.
