FORSYTH, Ga. — The mayor of Forsyth has set his sights on a seat in the State Senate.
On Wednesday, Forsyth Mayor Eric Wilson announced his plans to resign as mayor and campaign for State Senate District 18.
"I have answered the call to serve our community as a paramedic, in business, and as a public servant. I am now ready to answer the call again by earning the trust and support of the people of District 18 to serve as your State Senator," Wilson wrote in a post on social media. "I’m ready to bring real-world experience, common sense, and our conservative values to the State Senate—to fight for the families, communities, small businesses, and values that make Middle Georgia strong."
