STREAMWOOD, Ill. (WLS) -- Heavy police activity gripped a suburban neighborhood for most of the evening Wednesday.

People who live and work nearby said they had seen dozens of police vehicles from multiple law enforcement agencies at the scene in Streamwood, and they had been there for hours, since around 4 p.m.

Videos posted to social media showed that heavy police presence near Yellowstone Drive and Kings Canyon Drive in Streamwood.

Residents said they saw officers in tactical gear with long guns, a command vehicle and drones in the air.

Streamwood police have only said they were attempting to arrest a suspect at a home. It was not immediately clear why the person was being sought and if there's anyone else inside.
