HOUSTON, Texas (KBTX) - When Cashius Howell was an upperclassman at Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, Mo., he knew he deserved better.

Don’t get it wrong, he was grateful for the scholarship offer he received from Bowling Green and, ultimately, he made the most of his opportunity in Kentucky. Still, from the early stages of recruiting, he felt slightly crazy believing he was destined for something greater.

“It was tough, you know, just to see guys — whether they’re coming out of the city or guys that you may feel like, not necessarily you’re better than them, but you could at least compete with — get those big-time offers," he said. “You feel like you’re left on the back burner.”
