Orissa High Court has directed police not to arrest the accused in a case involving an attack on Kendrapara Sadar police personnel in Keonjhar district and the forcible release of an accused from police custody.

According to court records, the accused had filed five anticipatory bail petitions related to the incident under Nandipada police limits. After hearing two of the petitions filed by Nilakantha Mahakud and Manas Behera, the High Court ordered that the petitioners not be arrested until the next hearing date. The court has also sought records of other criminal cases pending against them. The next hearing is scheduled for December 22.
