Well the Braves made a fairly significant signing, agreeing to a 2 year deal for Mike Yastrzemski that will pay him $9 million in 2026, $10 million in 2027, and holds a club option worth $7 million, but with a $4 million buyout for 2028. While this move may not exactly get the hearts of Braves fans racing and Yastrzemski is clearly on the old side of things, there is quite a bit of logic to it. Yastrzemski has a well-established track record of mashing right-handed pitching as a left-handed bat and plays respectable outfield defense, providing the flexibility to sit and/or DH any of the outfield, along with some insurance for Michael Harris being unable to rediscover his hit tool.
