Today in History revisits the Monday, December 11, 1957 edition of the Grand Forks Herald and highlights a story from Neche, North Dakota. Three Homemakers clubs hosted an international meeting with members of the Canadian Women's Institute from Altona, Manitoba. The guest speaker was Dr. Merton Utgaard, founder of the International Music Camp (IMC) at the Peace Garden, who discussed the camp's massive growth (up to 2,437 students). Utgaard, recently cited as an "ambassador to the world," also showed slides of the IMC and a student trip to Europe.
