Kozhikode: Travelling from Kozhikode Railway Station just got easier. Commuters, tourists, and visitors no longer need to wait for buses or worry about overcharging by auto-rickshaw and taxi drivers. A 24-hour “Rent-a-Bike” electric scooter service has been launched at the station.

The service features 30 electric scooters in total. In the initial phase, eight scooters are available. The rental charges are highly competitive: ₹50 per hour, ₹500 for 12 hours, and ₹750 for a full day.

The service was inaugurated on Wednesday by Station Manager C.K. Harish, who took the first ride on an electric scooter.

Following the footsteps of Mangalore and Tirur, Kozhikode station in the Southern Railway Palakkad division has now introduced this facility. The scooters are parked on the fourth platform
