More skeletal remains were found less than a day after a human skull was discovered at Coney Island, New York City, police say.

Shortly before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, a human skull was found in the bushes off the Riegelmann Boardwalk, the New York Police Department confirms in a police report obtained by PEOPLE.

Then on Wednesday, Dec. 10, in the afternoon, additional remains were discovered at the same spot, reports ABC7 .
