Swiss authorities have formally charged a man with the murder of his wife, Kristina Joksimovic, a former Miss Switzerland finalist, in what investigators have described as a horrific and meticulously carried out killing, according to the New York Post.

The 38-year-old model and entrepreneur was found dismembered in her Binningen home, near Basel, in February 2024.

Her husband, identified only as Thomas in Swiss media to comply with privacy laws, allegedly admitted to strangling her, the report quoted prosecutors as saying.

The Basel-Landschaft Public Prosecutor’s Office announced Wednesday that Thomas is now facing formal murder charges after completing its investigation.

A trial date has yet to be scheduled.
