LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — Breeze Airways held its inaugural flight to Orlando this afternoon, marking the first new airline to serve Lincoln since the failed Red Way experiment.
Passengers, Lincoln Chamber members and airport authority members gathered for the celebration. Mickey Mouse was there to celebrate and take pictures for the first flight to Orlando from Lincoln.
The airport has worked with Breeze before because Breeze was utilized by the Huskers to charter flights for their teams.
Officials believe they learned from the Red Way venture and could tell Breeze what worked and what didn’t about this market.
