Kenny Pickett won a Super Bowl ring with the Philadelphia Eagles less than a year ago. On Sunday, he’s in line to start against his former team at Lincoln Financial Field.
Pickett is expected to start in place of Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Geno Smith, who is “unlikely” to play due to a shoulder injury, according to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport .
Smith did not practice on Wednesday after taking an awkward hit in the Raiders’ loss to the Denver Broncos over the weekend.
Smith’s absence might be a blessing in disguise for the Raiders. The 35-year-old has struggled mightily this season, contributing to Las Vegas’ 2-11 overall record. Pickett, meanwhile, completed 8 of 11 passes for 97 yards and a touchdown in relief vs. Denver.
