PENNDEL, Pa. (WPVI) -- A police officer's quick actions helped save eight people from inside a burning duplex in Bucks County.
The fire broke out at 4:40 a.m. Thursday on the unit block of West Woodland Drive in Penndel Borough.
Officials say Officer Sean Peck was at the police department headquarters, which is across the street from the fire scene, and noticed the smoke.
Officer Peck ran into the home, which was filled with fire and heavy smoke, and rescued eight people from inside.
"If he didn't see it when he did, the house would have probably gone all the way up. There would have been a good chance that no one would have made it out," said Penndel Police Chief Sean Perry. "I'm glad the quick thinking and quick action resulted in eight people successfully getting out."
