A burglar knocked on the door of his victim's home, then climbed in through her kitchen window before asking if he was in the right house. Paul Field, 54, who has a multitude of previous convictions for burglary, forced himself into the home after the concerned woman saw him outside her house.
He forced his way inside then spoke to her briefly before she fled in terror. The same night, in an intoxicated state, Field damaged the front door of another home.
Field was jailed at Manchester Crown Court on Tuesday, December 9, for offences of burglary and criminal damage. Reading a letter to the court, Field said: "I apologise for you having to hear this today."
