The Michigan Wolverines shocked the college football world on Wednesday when they fired head coach Sherrone Moore after it was revealed that he allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with a UM staffer.

The 39-year-old coach led the Wolverines to a strong bounce-back season following last year’s 8-5 finish. The team went 9-3 and secured a spot in the Citrus Bowl against the No. 13 Texas Longhorns.

While the news came out of left field for most fans and analysts, noted college football insider Josh Pate revealed on “Josh Pate’s College Football Show” on Wednesday evening that several agents expected the Michigan job to come open in the not-too-distant future.

Pate even hinted that Michigan knew about Moore’s situation but sat on the news until after signing day so as not to lose
