INDIANAPOLIS – Monday afternoon after the Colts had largely finished up working through meetings to dissect the abysmal road loss in Jacksonville, a pair of rookie practice squad wideouts had one more task.

‘Can you come back later today for a workout?’

The request wasn’t all that surprising. After all, the Colts had gone into Sunday’s Jaguars game with two healthy (or healthy-ish) quarterbacks on their active roster. By the time the team returned to Indianapolis, starter Daniel Jones had torn his right Achilles tendon in a non-contact injury late in Sunday’s first quarter and rookie backup Riley Leonard had knee pain starting in the second half.
