The sentencing of ex-Premier League referee David Coote regarding a child abuse video discovered on his device has been postponed until next month. Coote, 43, admitted to making an indecent image of a child during an October court hearing, after police uncovered a category A video — the most severe classification.
He was expected to face sentencing at Nottingham Crown Court today, Thursday, December 11, however proceedings were adjourned until January 8 due to his barrister's unavailability on medical grounds.
Judge Nirmal Shant KC stated she was "simply not prepared" to proceed with sentencing should his legal representative participate via video-link.
