A doctor has issued a health warning to people who are on three common types of medication via an NHS repeat prescription. The alert is largely targeted at people on the contraceptive pill, type 2 diabetes medicine, and inhalers for those diagnosed with asthma.

In the UK, the pill is one of the most frequently prescribed contraceptives on the NHS, and it's available at no cost. According to Diabetes UK, over 5.8 million people in the country have diabetes, and as many as 7.2 million people suffer from asthma, with millions relying on inhalers as a primary treatment, reports the Mirror .
