The Giants return from their bye week without one of their assistant coaches.

New York fired assistant Bryan Cox following its 33-15 loss to the New England Patriots on Dec. 1. Cox spent 12 years in the NFL and was part of the Patriots’ Super Bowl XXXVI team that beat the then-St. Louis Rams.

Cox, coached the defensive line, joined the Giants in 2022.

Interim coach Mike Kafka didn’t share further details about Cox’s firing, or why the team decided to part ways with him.

The Athletic’s Dan Duggan reported the “final straw” was how Cox reacted to his seat being changed on the Giants’ plane home from the Patriots game.
