GRAND FORKS — Cole Reschny got the call Sunday.
Hockey Canada informed the UND center that he was among the selections for Canada's World Junior Championship preliminary roster.
"It was pretty special," Reschny said.

"I was kind of sitting there, looking at my phone, checking my phone," Verhoeff said.

Reschny and Verhoeff, UND's highly touted rookies from Western Canada, are leaving Friday morning to try to secure a spot on the under-20 team, which will play from Dec. 26-Jan. 5 in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
"As a Canadian kid, the World Juniors is the thing you look at growing up," Verhoeff said. "It's the main thing everyone's got their eyes on. So, it was a pretty cool moment when I received that call."
