Heeding the request made by Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), the Election Commission on Thursday extended the deadline for filling up SIR enumeration forms by another 15 days, till December 26 – the longest among the six states where the deadline has been extended.

The month-long Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, which began on November 4, was earlier extended from December 4 to December 11.

On Wednesday, CEO Navdeep Rinwa sought a two-week extension, citing the time required by District Election Officers (DEOs) to re-verify deceased, shifted, or absentee voters.

As per the revised schedule, the last day for filling up the SIR enumeration period has been extended to December 26, 2025. The date for publication of the draft electoral rolls will now be Decemb
