Drivers face fines outside schools in England - with 8:15am to 9am and 2:45pm to 3:45pm the hotspots for financial penalties . Medway Council's School Streets initiative council has to date issued almost 25,000 fines Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) - making £678,690.

Charmaine Gordon, mum-of-eight, said: "I can understand it, because there were cars speeding down and it was dangerous for children. But at the same time, it's a nuisance. It's just to make money for the council.
