When the Oklahoma City Thunder played the Phoenix Suns in the quarterfinals of the NBA Cup, fans saw an amazing reaction from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
The reigning NBA MVP and NBA Finals MVP was reacting to a flagrant foul that Suns veteran Grayson Allen committed on Thunder big man Chet Holmgren. Here is how Allen, who was ejected, described the incident during a postgame interview (via Duane Rankin):
"Felt like I gave a good foul within the physicality of the game and what was going on both ends, especially with the bumps on screens. Some of the hits on blockouts that were happening. It was straight up. He was cutting into me. Definitely a foul, but I thought it was within the physicality of the game. I think the reaction afterwards kind of played into that."
Either way, however, the reaction from Gilgeous-Alexander to his teammate taking the hit was priceless.
You do not often see that kind of face made by someone while dribbling a basketball.
Expect to see more versions of this on your social media timeline as it becomes more and more of a meme.
