A Louisiana man wanted by the West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office for first-degree rape of a child was arrested by the U.S. Marshal’s Service in Denver on Tuesday, officials said.
James Connolly, 43, is also wanted by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office for aggravated crimes against nature.
The West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office obtained the warrant for Connolly’s in August, but then learned he fled the state, the U.S. Marshal’s Service said in a news release.
The Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the U.S. Marshal’s Service in Baton Rouge, and the service began investigating leads as to Connolly’s whereabouts.
“On Monday, freshly obtained information about Connolly being in the Denver metro area was relayed to members of the U.S. Marshals Colorado Violent Offender Task Force.
