Meghan Markle has reached out to her estranged father Thomas Markle this week after he underwent a life-saving operation just days ago . The duchess’ father had his leg amputated at a hospital in the Phillipines, where he is believed to still be recovering.

While Meghan, 44, has been estranged from her 81-year-old father since 2018, news of his ill health prompted her to reach out to him. This was confirmed by a spokesperson for Prince Harry ’s wife yesterday.

While it is not known what Meghan said to her father, it is believed this simple act of reaching out could mend their seven-year estrangement, which has meant that Thomas has never met Prince Harry or the couple’s two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
