DENVER — Millions of Americans could be affected by potential legislation targeting dual citizenship, according to an immigration attorney who says the impact would be widespread.
Hans Meyer, an immigration attorney, said the implications of eliminating dual citizenship through legislation would be "pretty profound."
"The interesting thing about dual citizenship is almost everybody will know somebody who is a dual citizen," Meyer said. "This is a very common thing."
Last week, Sen. Bernie Moreno, a Republican from Ohio, introduced a bill to eliminate dual citizenship . The Exclusive Citizenship Act of 2025 has been referred to the Judiciary Committee and faces a lengthy legislative process ahead.
