In Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, Sarfaraz has been sentenced to death for the murder of Ramgopal Mishra during violence that erupted over a year ago. For aiding in the crime, Sarfaraz’s father Abdul Hamid, his two brothers Faheem and Talib, along with nine other accomplices, have been sentenced to life imprisonment.

The verdict was delivered by the Additional District Judge (ADJ) court of Bahraich on Thursday, concluding a trial lasting 13 months and 28 days. Earlier, all the accused were brought from jail to the court under heavy security.
