GRAND BLANC, Mich. — A Grand Blanc lottery club thought they were being pranked when they learned they won $1 million from the Michigan Lottery.
The club is a group of 18 coworkers who go in on tickets when there is a big jackpot. Club representative Nicholas Stockwell said he bought the tickets at a Speedway gas station in Grand Blanc.
The winning ticket matched the five white balls—31-59-62-65-68—in the Aug. 20 drawing, netting a million-dollar prize.
“When one came back as a $1 million winner, I sent out a text to the group with the news, but no one believed me at first. It was a pretty cool experience for everyone once it finally sunk in that it was real!” Stockwell said.
