KURE BEACH, N.C. (WITN) - A Kure Beach aquarium had a not-so silent night after staff celebrated the birth of three otter pups.

The NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher has announced that three all-male otter pups were born Friday, December 5. The three boys are Asian small-clawed otters.

According the aquarium, these pups were successfully bred as part of The Association of Zoos and Aquarium’s Species Survival Plan. When they are allowed to breed the males will introduce new genetics.

They each weigh a little less than an apple, says the staff on Facebook.

Milli and Binx are first-time parents and the family is enjoying rest together.
