MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) - Former Wisconsin Justice Michael Gableman filed a motion with the state Supreme Court asking Justice Janet Protasiewicz to reconsider her decision not to recuse herself from his disciplinary proceedings.
Gableman argues Protasiewicz should not be hearing his case because of public comments she made while she was running for election to the state’s high court.
In the one-page argument in his motion, Gableman says Protasiewicz attacked his character and claimed he “courted extremists who oppose democracy” and was “unfit for office.”
He compared it to a trial judge publicly attacking a defendant’s character, saying she “publicly condemned his honesty and professional judgment because of the very same conduct this Court must now review.”
As we reported, Protasiewicz
